Birth

Isaac F. Garvey was born 22 Aug. 1800 on family farm on Garvey Hill in Huntersland 22 Aug. 1800 to Francis Garvey and Amy Townsend.

Occupation

He was a farmer on family farm in Rensselaerville. Isaac moved in his later years to Neb. with son Willard in the 1880 census.

Marriage and Children

He married 1827 Cynthia Day born 1805 to Latany Day and Nancy Crandell. They had 10 children but only 7 are known at this time:

  • Robert Garvey 1828-1871 Rensselaerville married Harriet Cook 1832( David Cook + Ruth Sanford)
  • Anna Garvey 1833 married Martin Wood
  • Nancy Garvey 1834-1916 married Orville Crippen
  • Amy Garvey 1835 married ----- Rose
  • Willard Garvey 14 Apr.1836 died 22 Mar. 1920 Idaho buried Casper, Wyoming, married Adelaide Kenyon
  • Walter Isaac Garvey 1848 died Neb.
  • James W. Garvey 30 June 1850, died 1 July 1930 Mascot, Neb. married 1st Mary E. Aley of Rensselaerville. A daughter Libby A. Garvey was left in Rensselaerville and raised by Mary Aley's parents Horace Aley and Mary, James W. Garvey Married 2nd Margaret Murrey in Neb.

Bert Gifford

Birth

Bert Gifford was born September 12, 1877, in Berne to Albert W. Gifford and Mary Hope Fox.[1]

Occupation

Marriage & Children

It is believed he never married, and had no children.

Death

Bert died March 18, 1970, at 92 years of age.[2] He was buried in Medusa Cemetery in Rensselaerville.[2][1]

Published in The Altamont Enterprise, March 27, 1970

GIFFORD - At Albany Medical Center, Mar. 18, Bert Gifford of Medusa; Brother of James Gifford, Rensselaerville; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held Saturday at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Greenville. Interment at the Medusa cemetery.
