Birth

Llewellyn Howard Gage (Lewellyn H. Gage) was born in Albany on February 7, 1930, the son of Howard Llewellyn Gage (April 7, 1907 - ) and Helen Deldee Barber. His uncle was Ernest Williamson Gage. His Siblings were:

  • Luella May Gage (May 31, 1932 - ) married Lee Mihill
  • Shirley Bessie Barber (May 8, 1945 - ) - Shirley B. McBean of Springfield, Mo.

Education

A lifelong resident of Altamont, he was a 1949 graduate of the former Altamont High School.

Occupation

Lewellyn Gage worked as a mechanic and truck driver for his father's farm implement business, Howard L. Gage Inc. in Altamont, which later became H.L. Gage Sales and relocated to Albany in 1978.

LLewellyn Gage married Shirley A. Gage. Their children were:

  • Susan A. Gage of Altamont
  • Howard K. Gage of Altamont

Death

Lewellyn H. Gage, 69, died Saturday at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center after a long illness. Burial will be in the spring in Knox Cemetery.

GUILDERLAND - Lewellyn H. Gage, 69, died Saturday at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center after a long illness.

Mr. Gage was born in Albany. A lifelong resident of Altamont, he was a 1949 graduate of the former Altamont High School. He worked as a mechanic and truck driver for his father's farm implement business, Howard L. Gage Inc. in Altamont, which later became H.L. Gage Sales and relocated to Albany in 1978.

Mr. Gage was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Altamont.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley A. Gage; a daughter, Susan A. Gage of Altamont; a son, Howard K. Gage of Altamont; a sister, Shirley B. McBean of Springfield, Mo.; and a grandson.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Maple Avenue, Altamont. Burial will be in the spring in Knox Cemetery.

Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main St., Altamont.
