<!--We also want this biography to appear in a sub category for Biographies of people for Rennselaerville, Berne, Knox and Westerlo. Currently, All four sub categories appear (Rennselaerville, Berne, Knox and Westerlo) - You will need to delete the towns that DO NOT APPLY to the bio you are making. Your bio can appear in more than one town subcategory. For example, If you bio applies to say Berne and Westerlo, then keep those lines and delete the Knox and Rensselaerville lines-->

Obituary

Rodney M. Foster II Rodney M. Foster II, a policeman and Vietnam War veteran, died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at his home in East Berne. He was 64. Mr. Foster was born in Albany to Audrey J. Foster (Zorn) and the late Rodney M. Foster. He graduated from Phillip Schuyler High School in 1966 and proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War in Korea. He retired from the Albany Police Force in 1998 after 28-anda-half years of service. He was one of few three-wheeled motorcycle officers and later finished his career in the Pinebush Police Station. He continued his life of service through working as a federal guard for the city of Albany until he fully retired. “Rodney loved his Harleys and riding; he enjoyed his time in the Thousand Islands and hunting,” his family wrote in a tribute. His father died before him, as did his beloved wife of 36 years, Lynne M. Cunningham. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughters, Deborah Knoll, and her husband, Daniel, and Melissa Foster. He was the proud grandfather of his two grandsons, Ryan and Justin Knoll. He is also survived by his companion and partner in life, Alice Kiernozek, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close family members. “Rodney was a friend of Bill W. and through so was an inspiration and confidant to many,” his family wrote. Mr. Foster was laid to rest at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery on Monday, October 29, 2012. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at 1 Penny Lane, Latham NY 12110. Arrangements are by the New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home of Albany.
