On February 5, 1936 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Schuler in Schenectady, Fred H. Filkins entered into rest, aged 75 years.
Born on Filkins Hill, the only son of Hiram Filkins and his wife, Susanah Deitz, most of his life was spent on the country-side associated for generations with the family name.
