Ira Fairlee Dies After Long Illness

Ira Fairlee, 67, of RD Altamont, died yesterday in Albany Hospital following a long illness.

Mr. Fairlee had been employed as a stock manager by the Albany COunty highway department. A veteran of World war I, he was a member of Helderberg Post 977, American Legion.

The Fredendall funeral home, Altamont, will be open tomorrow from 7 to 9 p.m. and the funeral service will be conducted there at 2 p,m, Wednesday. Burial will be in Knox Cemetery.

Surviving are a son, Marshall Fairlee, and a sister, Mrs. Howard Sholtes, of Berne.

Funeral Today For Fairlee

The funeral of Leonard Fairlee, administrative assistant in the manager's office at the American Locomotive Co., will be held this morning at 11 o'clock in Baxter's funeral home. Burial will be in Prospect Hill cemetery. Mr. Fairlee. 63. of 1215 Gainer avenue, died Friday in St. Clare's Hospita after a short illness. Survivors include his wife. Mrs. Florence VanDeusen Fairlee: a sister, Mrs Howard Sholtes of Berne, and a brother Ira Fairlee of Altamont.

MRS. HOWARD SHOLTES

Mrs,. Olive M. Fairlee, wife of Howard Sholtes, passed away at her home in Berne last Friday morning. Mrs. Sholtes, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Milo Fairlee, was born in the Town of Knox, June 5, 1892, and had lived her entire, life in Albany county.

She was a member of the Reformed church and the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Berne Fire department. She spent several years nursing until her health failed. She had been in failing health for a long time and the end came as a relief to her suffering. Survivors are her husband, Howard Sholtes; one daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Ella) Scrafford, of Berne; and two grandsons, Allan H. Scrafford of Holland, Mich., and William R. Scrafford of Berne. Funeral services were held from the Berne Reformed church Monday, Rev. Bruce Goodwin officiating. Interment was inKnox Cemetery.

MILO FAIRLEE Milo Fairlee, father of Mrs. Howard Sholtes of Knox, died at his daughter's home Wednesday. He had been ill for some time. The funeral service will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Howard Sholtes. The home will be open tonight from 7 to 9 o'clock. Burial will be in the Knox Cemetery.

Besides his daughter, he leaves his wife, Mrs. Anna Batcher Fairlee and two sons, Leonard Fairlee of this city and Ira Fairlee of Delmar.
