KNOX -- E. Janet Abeel Edwards, 65, died Saturday, August 9, 1997 at St. Peter's Hospice. Mrs. Edwards was born in Hudson Falls, NY and moved to Knox in 1967. She was a member of the Gallupville United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Edwards in 1990. She is survived by four sons, Robert C. Edwards of Niskayuna, Keith S. Edwards of Guilderland, William J. Edwards of Knox and Daniel A. Edwards of Duanesburg; one daughter, Barbara L. Ward of Concord, NH; two sisters, Doris Marie Abeel Schultz and Betty Louise Abeel Schultz, both of Gallupville; one brother, Raymond Elmer Abeel of Petersburg, VA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Abeel Baker and Margaret Jane Abeel. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main St., Altamont. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 7-9 p.m. Burial will be in Knox Cemetery. Those who wish may make contributions to the Gallupville United Methodist Church, the Altamont Senior Citizens, the Altamont Rescue Squad or Community Hospice of Albany.

Died

EDWARDS — Robert J. Edwards, 64, of Knox, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany after a lengthy illness. Born in Poughkeepsie, he was raised in Albany. He moved to Knox in 1967.

He served in the U.S. Army during WW II.

He retired, from the Laborer's Local #190 in Albany in 1988.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Abeel Edwards; four sons, Robert C. of Colonie, Keith S. of Rotterdam, William J. and Daniel A. Edwards, both of Knox; one daughter, Barbara L. Ward, of Concord, N.H.; and one brother, Richard T. Edwards, of Colonie.,Also survived by five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m. at Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont. Calling hours will be tonight from 6-8 p.m. Interment will be in Knox Cemetery, Knox. Those who wish may. make contributions to the Altamont Rescue Squad.
