Edward Slater was born in Rensselaerville, Albany County, NY in about 1838.[1] His parents were deceased before 1850.

Death
He died of scurvy on January 27, 1865 at Andersonville prison and was buried there in grave number 12534.[1]
His Will
Edward's will reflects that he apparently had no immediate family or next of kin.
His will was written on August 16, 1862, proved and recorded on October 14, 1865
