Birth

Charles was born on September 23, 1806 in Knox, Albany County, NY, a son of Charles Dayton and Polly Smith. [1]

He was a physician

Marriage & Children

On September 22, 1834, he married Mary Sage Robinson who was born on June 22, 1814, probably in Knox. Their only known child:

  • Charles Luther Dayton who was born on November 16, 1836 and died on March 9, 1838[1]


On September 3, 1839 at the Lutheran Church in Knox, he married Prudence Mary Chesebrough who was born on October 5, 1808 in Neversink, Sullivan County, NY, a daughter of Nathan Chesebrough and Cynthia Crary. The known children of this marriage were:

  • Edwin Chesebrough Dayton born November 9, 1840, married Mary Albertina Morgan[1]
  • Nathan Hadley Dayton born May 3, 1842, married Joanna Schoonmaker[1]
  • Charles Crary Dayton born on March 23, 1847, died May 18, 1848[1]

Death

Mary died on March 13, 1837. Charles died on May 19, 1848 in Berne and was buried at the High Point Cemetery in Knox. Prudence died on August 7, 1870. [1]
