Stuart George Curtis was born on August 20, 1932 in Mount Vernon, Westchester County, the son of Beatrice Thompson Curtis of North Fort Meyers, Fla.

Stuart George Curtis was A3C in the U.S. Air Force in Korea.

Other Air Force recruits include Stuart G. Curtis, RD. 1, Altamont. The Army enlistees were sent to Fort Devens, Mass., and the airmen to Sampson.

Four Albany men and four others from the Capital District have enlisted at the Army and Air Force Recruiting Station, 43-45 Columbia St., Albany. Among the Air Force recruits was Stuart G. Curtis, RD 1, Altamont.

Mr. Ron Zapp of Roosevelt avenue has announced the engagement of her daughter, Barbara Jean, to Stuart G. Curtis, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. H, Curtis of Altamont.

Miss Zapp, who attended Mont Pleasant high school, is employed at the Wallace Co.

Mr. Curtis, recently discharged from the Air Force, is employed by Sikorsky Air Craft Co. of Stamford, Conn. A June wedding is planned.

Services will be held today for Stuart George Curtis, 60, of North Jay Street, who died Sunday in his home after a long illness.

He was born in Mount Vernon, Westchester County, and lived in the Capital Region most of his life. Mr. Curtis was a mental health therapy aide at the state Oswald D. Heck Development Center in Niskayuna. He retired eight years ago.

He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Curtis was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include three sons, Wesley Curtis, Jeffrey Curtis and Jody Curtis, all of Schenectady; and his mother, Beatrice Thompson Curtis of North Fort Meyers, Fla.

The service will be held at 11 a.m. in the Bond Funeral Home, Broadway and Guilderland Avenue. Burial will be in Knox Cemetery.

Calling hours are 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
