ALBANY -- James H. Cavanaugh, 53, died suddenly Saturday, January 22, 2005 at Memorial Hospital in Albany.

Jim served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He worked for the Albany County Highway Department in Knox, retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Boyd Hilton VFW Post and the American Legion Post in Altamont. He was predeceased by his mother, Helen C. Duell, in 1999.

He is survived by one sister, Joan M. Maslowsky of Knox; one brother, Robert D. Duell and his fiancee Erin Flannery of Knox; one daughter, Lisa Marie Cavanaugh; one nephew, Roger J. Maslowsky and one niece, Connie Carusone.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions in Jim's memory to Community Caregivers, 300 Mill Road Ct., Suite 200, Slingerlands, NY 12159.
