Birth
Henry M. Burman (Henry Michael Burmann) was born on February 1, 1894 in Torzsa, Austria, Hungary . He immigrated to this country around 1910. His brothers were:

- Philip Burmann of Floral Park, L. I,
Early Years
His early years in this country are a little unclear. He came here with several brothers and for a time they lived in New York City. But the earliest census information we have of his presence in the U.S. (1920) shows him living with his young family in Denver, Colorado. After a short period of residence there, they moved to the farm in Knox where he lived the rest of his life.
Occupation
Henry and his wife operated the Burmann Farm beginning in the early 1920's through to their deaths in the late 1950's and early 1960's respectively, when their son, Henry Jr took over the business. The primary farming business was raising chickens and selling eggs, although they had other livestock in the early years.
Marriage & Children
Henry married Therese Klamm (1892 – 1964) around 1915, probably in Denver, Colorado. Their children were:
- Henry Michael Burmann Jr. born September 10,1917 (1917 – 1994) of Delanson
- Norma Therese Burmann, born May 19,1919 (1919 – 1996) of Schenectady married Robert Griffeth.
- Patricia Lucy Griffith
Norma Burman Griffeth who taught in the district bordering District 12 during Betty Allen Spadaro's term was present with her husband, Robert Griffeth.

Death
Henry died in May 3, 1958 after several strokes. He is buried in Grove Cemetery, Delanson.

Henry Burmann
Henry Burmann, 63, a poultry farmer, died Saturday (May 3, 1958) at his home, RFD 3, Delanson, after a short illness.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 9:30 a. m. from the White Funeral Home and a requiem high mass was celebrated at 10 in Our Lady of Fatima church, Delanson. Burial was in Grove cemetery, Quaker Street.
Mr. Burman was born in Hungary and came to this area 34 years ago. He was a member of Helderberg Grange 1521 and Our Lady of Fatima church.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa A. Klam Burmann; a son, Henry M. Burman, Delanson: a daughter Mrs. Robert Griffith, Schenectady; three brothers, Fred, Carl and Philip Burmann, all of Floral Park, L. I, and a granddaughter, Patricia Lucy Griffith.

Facts about his life
Henry was a fun-loving man. He took his farming business seriously but always looked forward to when he could socialize with his family and friends. His granddaughter remembers the many summer family picnics at Piseco Lake in the New York state Adirondack Mountains when Grampa Burmann would take her on all the amusement park rides - their favorite was the Whip.
Residence
With the exception of his few years in New York City and Denver, Henry lived his whole adult life on the farm at 1768 Knox Cave Rd. That farm still stands today in the year 2009.

SPRAY WHEAT FROM PLANE
Henry Burman, Sr., and son, Henry, Jr., who run a poultry farm between Delanson and the village of Knox gave way to a new idea last Saturday in order to help out in their labor problem. Don Weber of Germantown, who does dusting and spraying for farmers about the state, with his Piper Cub 85, flew in to the Duanesburgh Airport, where he would load his plane with about 300 pounds of ammonium- nitrate, that was stored there from a Delanson mill, and take off for the Burman farm to dust the wheat fields. He spent about three hours during the day covering 25 acres of wheat. Mr. Weber was the person present at the opening to the public some time ago of the DeMarco Pine Grove Dairy Farms; who put on a spraying and dusting demonstration there.

SCHENECTADY -- Norma Burmann Griffeth, 76, of Guilderland Road died Saturday at the Guilderland Center Nursing Home.
Mrs. Griffeth was born in Denver. She lived in Delanson before moving to Schenectady. She received a teaching degree from the State University College at Potsdam. She also attended the University of Kentucky to study Braille and educating the blind. She later attended Syracuse University to study nature conservation.
She taught elementary school for more than 40 years, spending most of her career at the Schalmont Central School District in Rotterdam. She taught Braille in the Schenectady City School District for five years. She also taught nature conservation at the Five Rivers Environmental Education Center in New Scotland. Mrs. Griffeth was a member and former deacon of Messiah Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school. She was an avid environmentalist.
Survivors include her husband, Robert L. Griffeth; a daughter, Patricia Douglas of Longmeadow, Mass.; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Griffeth donated her remains to the anatomical gift program of Albany Medical College. Services will be held at a later date.
