Occupation

Ford F. Bunzey worked for the General Electric Co. in Schenectady for 40 years retiring in 1986 as foreman of the Wire Mill Dept. He was president of the Hilltowns Senior Citizens and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Berne. He had served as both tax collector and town justice in the town of Berne at one time. He helped to found the Youth baseball program in Berne.

BERNE — Ford F. Bunzey, 67, of Sickle Hill Road, died Dec. 17 (1991) at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany following a brief illness. Bunzey was born in West Berne, and was a lifelong area resident.

He was a graduate of the Berne-Knox High School. He worked for the General Electric Co. in Schenectady for 40 years retiring in 1986 as foreman of the Wire Mill Dept. He was president of the Hilltowns Senior Citizens and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Berne. He had served as both tax collector and town justice in the town of Berne at one time. He helped to found the Youth baseball program in Berne.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Eggers Bunzey; four sons, Bruce Bunzey of Westerlo, Glenn Bunzey of Longmont, Colo., Brian Bunzey of Berne and Garry Bunzey of Altamont; five sisters, Emma Stevens of Knox, Mildred Labonowicz of Pensacola; Fla., Olive Rowe of Central Bridge, Ruby Simons of Schenectady, and Betty Bunzey of West Berne; two brothers, Kenneth Bunzey of Berne and Ralph Bunzey of Monroe, Ga. He is also survived by six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Services were Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Berne. Arrangements were by Fredendall Funeral Home.
