Birth

Jacob was born on August 10, 1771, a son of William Brate and Arianntje Moak[1]

Marriage & Children

On February 20, 1798 he married Elizabeth Moak who was born on May 21, 1777 in New Salem, a daughter of Hendrick Moak and Elizabeth Heller[1]. Their children:

  • Harriet Brate born August 16, 1798, married John Houghtaling[1]
  • Elizabeth Brate born October 24, 1799, married Abraham Dobbs[1]
