Deceased Name: BRADT, GEORGE R.

ALTAMONT -- George R. Bradt, died Friday, April 29, 2005 at the VA Medical Center in Albany, following a long illness.

George served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a prisoner of war in Germany. He worked for the General Electric Co. in Schenectady for many years and later for the NYS Dept. of Transportation in Voorheesville. He was a member of the Boyd Hilton VFW Post in Altamont. Mr. Bradt was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Ethel M. Bradt in 1999.

Survivors include a sister, Gladys M. Liddle of Altamont; one brother, Arthur D. Bradt of Berne and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in Schenectady Memorial Park, Rotterdam. Those who wish may make contributions to the Altamont Rescue Squad, PO Box 56, Altamont, NY 12009 or the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211.
