Birth

Edmund Bell was born in Berne according to Rufus Wheelwright Clark in his book Heroes of Albany, while George Rogers Howell in his book History of the County of Albany recorded that he was from Berne.[1][2] Edmund was a son of John Bell (B. Mar 23, 1798, D. 1872) and Charity Pierce (B. 1802, D. 1887).[3] He was one of eleven children.[3] He was born at about 1835.
