Birth

Orange Beeman was born in Warren, Litchfield, CT on May 14, 1785, a son of Truman and Rachel Spooner Beeman.

Military

During the War of 1812, Orange was a private in the 5th Artillary and Infantry Regiment in the New York Militia. His term of service hasn’t been learned. He received a pension for his service which in most cases was merely reimbursement:

He married Betsey Brown on January 3, 1807 and had the following known children:

  • Mary BEEMAN b: October 6, 1807
  • Isaac BEEMAN b: May 1, 1810
  • Eunice BEEMAN b: April 13, 1812
  • Phebe BEEMAN b: October 5, 1814
  • Lucy Ann BEEMAN b: May 29, 1816
  • Truman BEEMAN b: November 18, 1818

Death

His date of death of November 8, 1857 has not been verified. He was still alive in 1855 and living in Berne. At that time both he and his wife were 70 years old.
