This family (Barckley) has for several generations been prominent in the history of the town of Guilderland and Albany county, where the pioneer of the family settled prior to 1790. Michael Barckley, born in Germany, came when a young man to America, perhaps then the United States, settled on a farm in Guilderland, where he married and died in middle lire. Birth

Michael Barckley was born in Guilderland, Albany Co., NY on May 17, 1758, the son of Eberhard Buercklin (1710 – 1788) and Maria Margareta Hoss (1720 – 1797).[1]. Brothers and sisters born before 1756 were born in Weil, Im Schoenbuch, Wuerttemberg, Germany, so his parents came to America between 1750 and 1756[1]. His brothers and sisters were:
