Special happy birthday May 8 to a dear friend of mine and our Ostrander family. Way back when I was a kid (That's a while as I'm 71) Papa used to take our family riding on Sunday afternoon over Delanson-way to see great-uncle Jim Ostranderand Aunt Ida. Or to visit other relatives and friends not too far away. We had attended morning church services, and had to be back in Gallupville for evening services. Sometimes we would visit the Armstrongs, whom Dad claimed as distant cousins. Erskine and Lizzie Armstrong had two sons. Leland, the younger, was near my age. Barton was 17 years older. As long as I can remember, I admired Barton's piano-playing, he used to invite us kids into the parlor and amuse us with his player-piano. Barton had bright blue eyes like my beloved father. The player-piano, blue eyes like Papa's, and Barton's kindness made him a favorite young man to sister Frances and me. So friend of my lifetime, Barton Armstrong, special fellow, happy 89th birthday,
