John F. Allen 3rd was born on October 24, 1836, the son of John Allen, (1804-1883) and Catherine M. Bellar (12/27/1815-10/25/1875).

John F. Allen 3rd married 1) Antoinette Fairlee (3/7/1837 - 10/27/1864), and 2) Jane C. (1839 - 3/6/1912). John's children were:

He died April 21, 1902, and is buried in Knox Cemetery in Knox.
