Birth

Elijah Abrams was born in Greenville, NY in 1808, a son of Benjamin Abrams who was a farmer in Long Island and removed to Greenville before settling in Rensselaerville . [1]

Occupation

Elijah was a farmer. [1]

Marriage & Children

Elijah married Thankful Bouton, a daughter of David Bouton 1775[1]and Salome Hopkins, [2]by whom he had five sons and four daughters. [1] Six of those nine children who have been identified are:

  • Charles Abrams , born in 1840, died in 1870 and is buried at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Guilderland
  • Augustus Abrams, born in 1842, died in 1921, and is buried at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Guilderland
  • George W. Abrams, born in 1843, died in 1865 and is buried at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Guilderland
  • Martha Abrams, born in 1849, died in 1865 and is buried at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Guilderland
  • John Abrams, born in 1856, died in 1874 and is buried at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Guilderland
  • Hiram Abrams born in 1857, died in 1931 and is buried at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Guilderland

Elijah removed with his family to Guilderland in 1868. [1]

Death

Thankful died on November 30, 1884 and Elijah died on April 22, 1891. Both are buried at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Guilderland.
