Obituary

Obituary

Mrs. Abiel Beebe, who died at her residence near Knowersville on Tuesday, Sept. 16 th, 1884, was a kind hearted woman with true Christian zeal. She was the daughter of Casper Ham of Schoharie, Rensselaer County, N Y. She was born in 1803. and married to Peter Beebe in 1837 She had a large acquaintance of friends who live to mourn their loss. She had been a sufferer for many years, yet she lived to the good old age of 81. She leaves a husband and three children to feel the desolation death can make, and to know the loss of a wife and mother. Many monuments hava been left by her which speak to the community of her acquaintance, of her pleasant ways, her kindness in sickness, and her generosity Co those who were in need.

Time turns the mystic page again
Beyond the three score years and ten.
It soften light the years recede
And noonday toward the sunset sped.

The fair green hills of youth are past
The quiet plains are reached at last,
Where the rich ripened sheaves of life
Are gathered from the fields of strife.
