Whipple, Walter
Birth
Walter was born in the village of Berne in 1846, the son of Esli Whipple and Angelica Rosekrans. [1]
Education
Walter attended the common schools of the village and finished his education by attending select schools for several terms. [1]
Occupation
At age sixteen, he began work as a clerk at a store in Rensselaerville. After three years, he returned to Berne and engaged in harness-making with his father, with whom he remained until the latter’s death; since the death of his father, he has continued the business alone. He is a Republican. [1]
Marriage & Children
In 1871 he married Josephine Ball of Berne, a daughter of Paul Ball and Maria Moore. [1][2]
Death
Walter died May 14, 1911[3] and his wife, on November 29, 1917. [2]

(Berne) Walter Whipple, age 65, died on Sunday, May 14. He had been a life long resident of this village and held the affection of a host of friends.
