He died at Key West, June 28, 1862, with fever contracted in the service, and was buried there.

His brother David was also in the Civil War and also died at Key West of typhoid fever.

CHARLES F. BARTON[4], brother of DAVID, was born at Rensselaerville, June 3d, 1847, and enlisted November 24, 1861, at Albany. He died at Key West, June 28, 1862, with fever contracted in the service, and was buried there. Thus fell two heroes from the same patriotic family.
