Charles Schermerhorn was born in Albany County at about 1841[1][2], to Aaron Schermerhorn (B. 1817, D. bef 1865) and Sarah Stafford (B. 1822, D. unk).[3]
Marriage & Children
He married in New York City at about 1881, Louise ______ who was born in September of 1850. They had one daughter, Elizabeth C. Schermerhorn, who was born in June of 1886. [4]
Occupation
Charles was a farmer.[5][6] Later in life, he was a Real Estate agent.[4]

Life
After the Civil War, Charles returned to Berne where he lived with his widowed mother and his siblings.[6]
Death
He died on October 2, 1914 at New York City.[8] His widow, Louise, received her pension from his Civil War service on October 31, 1914.
