Frederick Earl Bradt, Jr. was born in Knox, New York on April 24, 1925, the son of the late Frederick, Sr. and Charlotte (Chrysler) Bradt. His siblings were:

Fred was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy stationed on the U.S.S. Queens in the South Pacific. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he worked for over 20 years at the Rotterdam and Voorheesville Army Depots.

Delanson Couple Engaged to Wed

Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Ferris of Delanson have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Doris Ferris, to Frederick Earl Bradt Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Bradt of Delanson.

Miss Ferris attended Draper High school and is employed by the General Electric Co. Mr. Bradt, who attended Delanson High school, is an employee of the Schenectady Quartermaster Depot.

Frederick Earl Bradt, Jr., 84, passed away on February 21, 2010, at The Avenue Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre. The son of the late Frederick, Sr. and Charlotte (Chrysler) Bradt, Fred was born in Knox, New York on April 24, 1925. Fred was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Doris Jean (Ferris) Bradt, in May 2005. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Charles, George "Jake" and Maynard Bradt and his sister, Charlotte.

Fred was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy stationed on the U.S.S. Queens in the South Pacific. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he worked for over 20 years at the Rotterdam and Voorheesville Army Depots. After the Army Depots' closing in the late 1960s, he worked for the Golub Corporation in Rotterdam until his retirement in 1988. Fred and Doris then spent 15 years traveling full time in their motor home throughout the United States. Fred is survived by his children, Frederick (Carol) Bradt III of Duanesburg, Timothy (Debra) Bradt of Rotterdam, Kimberly (William) Gage of Delanson, Kevin (Marianne) Bradt of Schenectady; and daughter-in-law, Arlette Bradt of Rotterdam; six grandchildren, Pamela (Joseph) Tracy, Melissa Bradt, Kristina Gage, Amanda (Dane) Fagan, Kacey Bradt, and Joshua Bradt; four great-grandchildren, Dylan and Brenden Tracy, Callie DeLorenzo, and Chloe Fagan; and two step grandchildren, Bryan (Pamela) Rubin and Danny (Jenna) Rubin II. The Bradt family would like to express their thanks to The Avenue Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre staff for their care and attention during his stay there. Services will be private. Quaker Street -- George "Jake" Bradt, 72, died Monday at home. Lifelong resident of Quaker Street.

Survivors: wife, Elizabeth Bopp Bradt, m June 20 1948, son John Bradt of Quaker Street, brother Frederick Earl Bradt Jr. of Rotterdam.

JOINS NAVY Delanson - George S. Bradt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bradt of Delanson, who enlisted recently in the United State's Navy, left Friday for the Naval Training station at Great Lakes, Ill. for basic training. He attended Delanson High school and prior to entering service, was employed at the Army-Service Forces depot at South Schenectady.

CHARLES BRADT

Charles Bradt, 31, a life-long resident of the Delanson area, died Friday morning in Ellis hospital, Schenectady. He had been in ailing health for many months. Born in the Town of Knox, Oct. 11, 1921, he was a ,son of Mrs. Lottie Chrysler Bradt arid the late Fred Bradt. He was a resident of the Town of Knox at the time of his death. He was employed at a garage in Altamont.

In addition to his mother, Bradt is survived by his wife, the former Shirley Barber; one daughter, Donna Lee Bradt; three brothers, Frederick Bradt of Parker's Corner; George Bradt of Quaker Street; and Maynard Bradt of Delanson.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p. m. from the Galen White Funeral Home in Delanson, with Rev. Edward Diamond of Schenectady, former rector of Christ Episcopal church of Duanesburgh, officiating. Burial was in Grove cemetery in Quaker Street.
