KNOX Elmer T. Ogaard, 69, died at home on Thursday, December 3, 2009. He was born on August 27, 1940 and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. to the late Elmer and Adeline Ogaard. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1961 where he served for four years, after which he moved upstate. In the early 1970s, he went to work for the United States Postal Service, from where he retired after 35 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Lydia Ogaard; loving father of Stephen Ogaard, Michael (Mandi) Ogaard, Erica (Scott Kirsch) Ogaard, and Diana (Bear Campo) Ogaard; loving grandfather of Alexander; devoted son-in-law of Elizabeth Shedina; a sister, Marilyn (Bill) Burt and their daughter Tiffany and her four daughters; two cousins, Stephanie (Dennis) Warnesky and Denise (Matthew) Mahon. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, December 7, 2009 at the Knox Reformed Church, followed by an interment in Knox Cemetery.
