PHILIP P. BUFFA SR. EAST BERNE - Philip P. Buf fa Sr., 59, of Adams Road, an East Berne resident since 1985, died: May 7 at St. Clare's Hospital in Schenectady after a brief illness. Mr. Buffa was born in Brooklyn and served in the Army during the Korean War, He worked as a meat cutter for the Food. Fair stores oh Long Island for many years before moving to East Berne. „ At the time of his death, he was employed by the Albany Pork Store in Schenectady. During 1985, he worked as a custodian in the Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School. A member of the Knights of Columbus in Brentwood,: Suffolk County, Mr. Buffa was a member of the Lady of Fatima General Assembly and a fourth degree knight of the Bishop's Color Guard. He was also a member of both the Knox Volunteer Fire Department and the Amalgamated Meat Cutters Union and a former Republican committeeman in the Town of Islip (Suffolk Co.). Survivors include his wife, Barbara Buffa; one son, Philip P. Buffa Jr. of Washington, DC; one daughter, Margie A, Saddlemire of Knox; one sister, Mary Micca of Oceanside (Nassau Co.); and two grandchildren. Services were Wednesday, May 10, in St. Lucy's Roman Catholic' Church, Grand Street, Altamont, and burial will be in Knox Cemetery,.Knox.
