Margaret Stevens was born on August 28, 1926, the daughter of Daniel Webster and Edna Stevens. Si lived and worked her whole life in Knox, until she moved to the nursing home in 2003. Her siblings were:

Si attending the Berne-Knox School.

Occupation

After attending Berne-Knox School, Si took over her father's service station. Anyone who new Si knew her work was her hobby. She was known to keep long hours working seven days a week. Always lighthearted, Si enjoyed music, played the piano and loved to dance. She was very devoted to her family and customers. Si was a member of Knox Reformed Church.

KNOX Margaret "Si" Stevens, 83, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center. Born on August 28, 1926, Si lived and worked her whole life in Knox, until she moved to the nursing home in 2003. After attending Berne-Knox School, Si took over her father's service station. Anyone who new Si knew her work was her hobby. She was known to keep long hours working seven days a week. Always lighthearted, Si enjoyed music, played the piano and loved to dance. She was very devoted to her family and customers. Si was a member of Knox Reformed Church.

She was predeceased by her parents, Daniel Webster and Edna Stevens; brothers, Raymond and Marshall Stevens; sisters, Mildred Wideman and Virginia Clickman. She is survived by sisters-in-law, Emma Stevens and Jennie Stevens, both of Knox; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews and, of course, hundreds of beloved friends and devoted customers of Si's station. The family would like to express their sincerest thanks to the staff at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center for the compassionate care they provided Si for the last seven years.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 21, 2010 at Knox Reformed Church, followed by an interment in Knox Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, May 20, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont. Donations may be made in her name to Knox Reformed Church, PO Box 86, Knox, NY 12107.
