Birth
Gideon was born on February 4, 1796 a son of Henry Denison and Mary Gallup. His siblings were:

- Mary Denison born May 17, 1789

Gideon did not marry.
Military
Although no records are available, Gideon served in the War of 1812 and achieved the rank of Captain.
His father was a Revolutionary War soldier.
Death
He died on February 18, 1826 and is buried near his family at the High Point Cemetery in Knox.
