Gideon was born on February 4, 1796 a son of Henry Denison and Mary Gallup. His siblings were:

Although no records are available, Gideon served in the War of 1812 and achieved the rank of Captain
Death
He died on February 18, 1826 and is buried near his family at the High Point Cemetery in Knox.
