NOTE: NOTHING here is definite. The Knox Town Clerk lists just "Samuel H. Reely, 10th." No sign of a Samuel Reely, Riley Rilly, Reilly, Relyea, etc. in 10th light artillery, heavy artillery, infantry, cavalry (117th infantry which was 10th National Guard) - nothing. There is a Samuel Reilly in the 7th NY Heavy Artillery, Co. B, but even then the information is contradictory. He either died of a heart attack in 1862 or deserted in 1863 - both from reliable sources.
