Birth
Samuel was born in 1800 at Westerlo, son of Ira Lockwood and Betsey Utter.[1]
Occupation
Samuel was a farmer and a wheelwright.[1]
In politics he was a Whig, then a Republican, and a member of the Christian church.[1]
Marriage and Children
Samuel married Margaret Swope born in 1803 at Westerlo, a daughter of Frederick Swope and Adria Whitmarsh[1]at about 1825. The only child's name given in this sketch is that of Leander S. Lockwoodborn in 1833

Death
Samuel died on May 31, 1875, and his wife in 1897.[1]
