George received his pension on June 7, 1881 in MN, his widow received a pension on July 28, 1893 at Washington, DC.

From July 26, 1892 to November 14, 1892 he was a patient at the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers at Hampton, VA. His wife, Julia, was named as his next of kin and she lived in Washington, DC. He had a stroke.
