Born at about 1844 at Knox, Albany Co.,NY, a son of Thomas Stafford (1804 – 1884) and Maria Truax (1809 – 1882). His siblings were:

John T. Stafford Obituary - Altamont Enterprise April 28, 1922

John T. Stafford

(Hard to read!) A long time resident of this section of Albany county, John T Stafford died at his home here on State road Friday April 21, 1922. The funeral service was held on ?? at 10:30 ?? his residence.

Mr. Stafford was born October 14?, 1843 in the town of Knox. He was civil war veteran. He enrolled August 29, 1864 in Company H 18 Regular New York Cavalry Volunteers and was honorably discharged June 2, 1865. After his return home, he married Jane Ann Sickles. Mrs. Stafford survives him. They were married fifty six years last October.

He also leaves two sons, William J. Stafford of Altamont; Walter C. Stafford of Schenectady; three daughters. Florence A. Green and Nellie M. Ashworth of Cohoes; And Ida M. Mareoux of Albany. There are also eleven grandchildren.
