Birth
Samuel Young was born in Connecticut[1] in 1783, the son of Abraham Young and Phebe Wood. [2]Samuel settled in the town of Berne, near what is now the village of Reidsville, in 1792[1]
Occupation
He farmed and practiced law, having for many years an extensive law practice. [1]
Marriage & Children
Samuel married Magdalene Warner, a native of Berne[1]and the daughter of Philip Warner and Elizabeth Shafer on May 29, 1803 at the Dutch Reformed Church in New Salem. [2]
They had three sons:
- Philip Young, born in Berne in 1809[1]
- David Young
- Silas Young
Death
Samuel died in 1860 at the age of eighty years; his wife died some years before. [1]
