CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Paul Landauer, 51, of Cambridge, died at home on March 2, 2005. Born April 21, 1953 in the Capital District, he resided in Cambridge for more than 30 years. He did many different things in his career, including driving for the Boston Cab Company. Paul enjoyed good conversation, helping other people and was a sponsor, mentor and friend to many. A great storyteller, he was also a friend who listened and shared his knowledge with all who needed him. Paul's passions including music, movies and technology. His laugh will be missed by all.
He is survived by his father, L. Charles and his stepmother, Helen B. Landauer of Roswell, N.M. He is predeceased by his mother, Marianne (Gilroy) Landauer. Brother of Mike (Dottie) Landauer of Las Vegas, Nev., Mary Lou Dunham of Clifton Park, N.Y., Pat (Jeff Barber) Landauer of San Francisco, Calif., Susan (Gene) Massamillo of Darien, Conn., Peter (Kim) Landauer of Lansingburgh, N.Y. and Daniel (Susan) Landauer of Latham, N.Y. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles; nieces, nephews; and cousins.
Paul's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Paul's friends for all their love and support during his life and battle with cancer. They especially appreciate the efforts of the Share the Care Group, the Healthcare Dimensions Hospice and the staff of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. They comforted and cared for Paul during his final days, fulfilling his final wishes.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at the William T. Hickey & Son Funeral Home, 175 Huron Ave., Cambridge, Mass. on Saturday, March 12 from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers or contributions, please lend a helping hand or an ear to a friend, as Paul would have done for anyone in need.
