Birth

Anna B Gibbs, born Nov. 4, 1886 in Knox, daughter of Albert Gibbs and Eva Ann Ball.

Anna married Henry Alson Miller on Jan. 31, 1905 in a home on West Mountain in a snow storm. They had two children:

Organizations

Anna was a faithful reader of the Bible. She was the oldest member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and active through the years in Sunday School, Missionary Society and Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of Schoharie Chapter of the DAR and a charter member of the Uhia Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, No. 803]], where she remained active for 52 years.

After their 60th wedding anniversary Henry died in September 1965. Anna died Oct. 20, 1979. Funeral services were from St. Paul's Lutheran Church and she was laid to rest beside Henry in Knox Cemetery.

ANNA B. MILLER

Anna B Miller died nearly Saturday (Oct 20, 1979) evening at St. Peter's hospital, where she had been taken by ambulance earlier in the day. Born Nov. 4, 1886, the daughter of Albert and Eva Ann Ball Gibbs. she lived her almost 93 year life span in the Berne- Knox area, except for some Florida winters. Jan. 31, 1905 she married Henry Miller in a home wedding during a West Mountain snow storm. After their 60th anniversary, he died in September 1965.

Mrs. Henry miller was a faithful reader of her Bible in spite of failing sight the last few years. She was as a friend said, "a good woman with a happy disposition and she was given to pouring oil on troubled waters." She was the Aan 41, 1905 she oldest member of St, Pual's Lutheran Church where she was active through the years in the Sunday school, Missionary Society and Ladies Auxillary. She was a member of the Schoharie Chapter of the DAR and a charter member of Uhai Chapter OES No. 803, where she remianed active for 52 years.


Mrs Miller was the mother of Hubert Miller and the late Chester A. Miller, and is survived by a sister Mrs Ethyl McDermott of Knox, 13 grandchildren, Ralph Miller of Helderberg Trail, Harold Miller of Washington D. C., Mrs. Robert (Carolyn) Wright of Ravena, Mrs James (Marilyn) Figel of East Berne, Mrs Gerald (Huberta) Miller of Albany, Charles Miller, Mrs Michael and Donald Miller of Helderberg Trail, and Allen Miller of Cole Hill Rd , Mrs. Robert (Doris) Flagler of Helderberg Trail, Mrs Gary (Sandra) Gillen of Schenectady, Mrs Gary (Donna) VanZandt of Waterford, and Michael Miller of Warrensburg, two sister-in-laws, Christina Miller and Vertie Gibbs.

Also great-grandchildren, Kathleen Miller of SUNY Albany, Karen Miller, who is a student this year in Germany, Derek and Garth Wright of Ravena, Suzanne and Gerald Miller of Albany, Melisa Miller of Berne, Marcel Miller of California, Michelle, Heather, and Heide Vincent, Carol and Ricky Flagler of Berne, Alicia, Bonnie, and Mark Gillen of Schenectady, Mimi and Casey Miller of Warrensburg.

Uhai Chapter members conducted Eastern Star services at Fredendall Funeral Home in Altamont Tuesday evening, and funeral services were from her Lutheran church Wednesday with her pastor, Rev. Janice C. Jenson, officiating. Interment was in Knox Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Building Fund of St. Paul's Lutheran church.
