Birth

Martin Van Buren Talmadge was born in Westerlo[1], Albany Co., NY at about 1839, a son of Jonathan and Margaret Talmadge,[2]and a brother of Abraham, who also served in the Civil War.

Marriage & Children

Martin married twice. His first marriage was at about 1872 and his wife died before 1880. They had one child, Ella Talmadge who was born in 1874. His second marriage was to Eliza J. and nothing is known about her or whether or not they had children.

Born in Watervliet, NY, Age 26, Farmer, Blue eyes, Dark hair, Dark complexion, 5'9" tall.[3]

Death

From 1915 to 1927, Martin had almost constant admissions to several National Homes for Disabled Volunteers, his final one being at Hampton, VA in 1927. Martin died on January 30, 1932[4]
