Margarete Armstrong was born October 1, 1832, in Schoharie County, N.Y., the daughter of Patton Armstrong and Jane Knight.

On July 25,1871, Margarete married Rev. William Earl of Knox.

Margarete died March 13, 1897, in Plymouth, Iowa.
