Birth

Lucia A. Barton was born in 1861 in Schoharie, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Barton. He sisters were:

  • Mrs. Earl Saddlemire
  • Mrs. George Wilbur

Occupation

She was a member of the Methodist church of Schoharie, attending the Community church during her residence here, also being a member of the local branch of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Barton, born in the town of Schoharie and resided on Barton Hill until about twelve years ago when she moved to the village of Schoharie. Mrs. Barton made friends easily and won the regard of those with whom she came in contact.

Mrs. Lucia A. Barton

Mrs. Lucia A. Barton, widow of the late William H. Barton, passed away at the Albany City hospital Friday morning, Jan. 8 (1937). Mrs. Barton had reached the advanced age of 76 years and had been ill for about three weeks.

She was a member of the Methodist church of Schoharie, attending the Community church during her residence here, also being a member of the local branch of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Barton, born in the town of Schoharie and resided on Barton Hill until about twelve years ago when she moved to the village of Schoharie. Mrs. Barton made friends easily and won the regard of those with whom she came in contact. Her funeral was held at her home, 132 Grand street, Schoharie, Sunday, Jan. 10. The many beautiful floral pieces that surrounded her as well as the large number of friends who came to pay the last sad respects showed how dearly she was loved. Surviving are a son and daughter, William and Laura Barton; a stepdaughter. Mrs. E. W. Armstrong; two sisters, Mrs. Earl Saddlemire and Mrs. George Wilbur; also three grandchildren, Mrs. Earl Williamson and Barton and Leland Armstrong.
