Birth
Jacob was born on August 10, 1771, a son of William Brate and Arianntje Moak[1]
Marriage & Children
On February 20, 1798 he married Elizabeth Moak who was born on May 21, 1777 in New Salem, a daughter of Hendrick Moak and Elizabeth Heller[1]. Their children:
- Harriet Brate born August 16, 1798, married John Houghtaling[1]
- Elizabeth Brate born October 24, 1799, married Abraham Dobbs[1]
- Mary Brate born August 6, 1802[1]
- Henry Brate born September 20, 1803, married Eliza M. Smith[1]
- William N. Brate born May 6, 1810, married Angeline Smith[1]
- Fanny Brate born March 27, 1812
- Margaret Brate born May 24, 1817, married George A. Smith[1]
Death
