George N. Combs, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Combs of RD 6, has heen promoted to staff sergeant. A drill press operator, Sergeant Combs enlisted in the air corps, Dec. 12. 1942, and attended school for gunners at Fort Myers, Fla., and the school for aircraft mechanics at Seymour Johnson field, NC. An engineer-gunner in a Liberator bomber, he has been overseas two months.
