Birth
Augustus was born in Rensselaerville in 1842, a son of Elijah Abrams and Thankful Bouton.[1]
Occupation
Augustus was a farmer on his father’s farm. He went to California where he remained for five yearsl He returned by request of his father in 1868 and shortly thereafter purchased a dairy farm of 180 acres in Guilderland. In 1869 he united with the M. E. church ; has been a class leader ever since, also superintendent of the Sunday school for fourteen years He has been a member of the Masonic order since 1864; also of the I. O. G. T. Was a member of the Sons of Temperance when seventeen years of age[1]
Marriage & Children
In 1871, he married Anna E. Herrick, a daughter of Nathaniel and Nancy J. Herrick.[1]
They had two children:
- Lilly M. Abrams
- Charles E. Abrams
Death
Anna died in 1892. Augustus died in 1921. Both are buried at the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Guilderland.
