Lydia Stafford was born in about 1832 probably in Knox, Albany County, NY to Thomas Stafford Sr. (B. abt 1804, D. April 14, 1884) and his wife Maria Truax (B. April 17, 1809, D. April 24, 1881).[1] She was one of ten children.[1]

She appears to have married two times. She married Mose Trask[1] and Daniel Taylor[2] Daniel Taylor was the son of Phillip Taylor (B. abt 1805, D. after 1880) and his wife Eliza Jane.[3] Lydia had the following children by Daniel:
- Clarissa M. Taylor (B. abt 1853, D. after 1860)[3]
- Julia Ann Taylor (B. abt 1855, D. after 1860)[3]
- Walter Taylor (B. abt Oct 1859, D. after 1920)[2][3]
- William Taylor (B. abt 1861, D. after 1880)[4][5]
