Birth

Silas Blodgett was born 22 JAN 1730/31 in Stafford, Tolland, CT the son of Josiah Blodgett.

Education

Military

Silas Blodgett of Stafford, Conn. Commissioned May 1775 Discharged December 1775. Re-entered service 1776 in Captain Elijah Robinson's Company, in the second Regiment. Colonel Joseph Spencer, which served at the siege of Boston Commissioned 1st Lieutenant January 1777. In the second regiment Connecticut Colonel Joseph Charles Webb. which went into camp at Peekskill early in 1977 served along Hudson and on December 8 engaged in action at White March. Lieutenant, in the act of Connecticut Pensioners, Sergeant in Capt. Paul Blodgett's Company from the town of Stafford, in the list of men who marched from the Connecticut town for the relief Boston in the Lexington Claim.

Capt. SIlas Blodgett, the father of Mrs. Torrey drew a Pension under act of March 18, 1818. A is supposed. And was returned from the COunty of Saratoga State of New York - a reference to his delaration my be of service in // service of Amos Torrey.
