SCOTIA -- Minnie I. Strevell, 99, of the Baptist Retirement Center, formerly of Westerlo, died Tuesday in the center.
Mrs. Strevell was born in South Berne. She was a former public school teacher in many of the one-room schools in Berne, Knox and Westerlo areas. She was the oldest living member of the First Baptist Church in Westerlo.
She was the widow of Carey D. Strevell.
Survivors include two daughters, Elsie Morrison of East Glenville and Betty Lockwood of Greenville; a brother, Earl Skinner of Ravena; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Cunningham Funeral Home in Greenville.
Burial will be in the Westerlo Rural Cemetery.
A calling hour will be from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
