KNOX —Norman O. Bell, 79, of Quay Road died yesterday in St. Clare's Hospital following a long illness.

He was born April 6, 1915, in Knox, the son of DeWitt and Esther Gaige Bell, and was a lifelong resident of the town.

He owned and operated the Bell Saw Mill in Knox for over 20 years, retiring in 1980. Before that he was a lumberjack and self-employed farmer.
