Birth
B. D. Crary (Beebe[1] D.) was born July 12, 1819 in Knox, NY, the son of Nathan Crary (1784 – 1866) and Hannah Gallup (1786 – 1873).
His brother and sister were:
- John Gallup Crary (1809-1896)
- Hannah Crary (1823-)
Occupation
Crary was stationed in Texas as the agent of Korns Bros., brokers, of New York. In a census he is listed as a rail road worker.
Marriage & Children
He married Anna (Anna Alida) Littlejohn in August, 1843. She was the sister of the late Bishop (Abram Newkirk) Littlejohn of the diocese of Long Island. Anna was born about 1826.
There children were:
- Charles Crary (1847)
- Ella (Mary Ellen)Crary (Mrs. Shiverick) (1851)
- Anna Crary (unmarried) (1854)
- Nathan Newkirk Crary (1857)
- William Crary (1863)
Death
He died in April, 1907, in Beaumont, Texas
Obituary
B. D. Crary
On Saturday morning last, J. C Bogardus, of Knox, received a telegram from Beaumont, Texas, announcing tbe death of his uncle, B. D. Crary.
Mr. Crary was the youngest son of the late Nathan and Hannan Crary,born at Knox. N. Y., July 12, 1819, graduated from Union college in the early forties. He was subsequently principal of Johnstown academy. In August, 1843, be married Anna Littlejohn, sister of the late Bishop Littlejohn of the diocese of Long Island. He is survived by three sons, Charles, William and Nathan, and two daughters, Ella, now Mrs. Shiverick, and Miss Anna Crary. The family home is at Omaha, Neb., but for many yearshe has been stationed in Texas as the agent of Korns Bros., brokers, of New York.
