Ernest S. Applebee with Daisy M. Freleigh

Birth

Ernest S. Applebee was born January 7, 1894.[1] He was a son of Abraham Applebee.[2]

Occupation

Military

Ernest served in Co. L of the 326th Infantry in World War I.[1]He died in the service of his country.

Marriage & Children

He was engaged to Daisy Mae Freleigh (1902-1977) and they had a child who died as an infant.

Death

He was killed in action October 18, 1918, in World War I. He was interred at St. Juvin, France.[1] A gravestone was erected in Hannacroix Rural Cemetery in Dormansville.

Obituary

THE RECORDER, Catskill, NY FRIDAY. JANUARY 3. 1919. = I n the casualty list this week is noted the death on Oct. 5th of Ernest Applebee. son of Abraham Applebee of Coxsackie. Private Applebee was twenty-four years of age, and was killed in action.
