Mrs. Stewart Dies at 80
Mrs. Greta C. Stewart of Settles Hill Road, Altamont, wife of Leslie R. Stewart, died Monday at her home after a brief illness.
She was born in Pearl River, N.Y., on July 10, 1895. Mrs. Stewart was a graduate of Cortland Normal school, and taught at Lake Placid, N. Y., Long Branch and Paterson, N. J. schools.
Mr. and Mrs. Stewart wre married Nov. 17, 1920, at Pearl River, and resided ever since at the farm home on Settle's Hill Road.
Mrs. Stewart was member of the Altamont Reformed church and the Laurel Band class. She was active in the Home Bureau for several years and taught rug hooking in the Guilderland schools adult education program.
Survivors include her husband; two sones, John C. Stewart of Altamont and Robert E. Stewart of Menlo Park, Calif; also seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two nephews.
Services were held Thursday afternoon from the Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont, with Rev. James Reid, officiating. Interment was at Park cemetery, Scotia.
